Malaysia's East Coast is a year-round paradise for sea and land activities, because the weather is generally warm and most of the time it's clear and sunny. In fact, it's very unusual to go through a whole day without any sunshine at all. We do get the occasional quick refreshing afternoon shower, but mostly before the day is up the sun will be out again. Nights, by the way, are quite cool here.

Since eco-tourism activities such as trekking, bird-watching, hill-climbing and river-cruising tend to be under the cooling shade of the thick tree canopies, you won't be overly uncomfortable. In fact, you'll be pleasantly surprised when you feel the cool ambient temperature in the jungle. Still, it's best to pace yourself somewhat, as the relative humidity can be quite high.

The best months for hard-core sailers, windsurfers and kite-surfers is around December to February. This is when the NE monsoon, that blows in from China, sends strong winds and rough seas towards the Malaysian East Coast. Make sure not to miss these conditions, because when it comes to wind strength and consistency, at 20 knots or more, Tanjung Resang can rival even the more established sail and windsurf spots in Asia.

Meanwhile, the rest of the year it's the milder SW monsoon that reigns supreme, the cooling breeze a welcome guest, especially during corporate and school team-building events.

So, no matter what your activity, chances are good the weather will be friendly and inviting.
